Biography
Aideen Doran was born in 1984 in Lurgan, Northern Ireland. She received a B.A. in Fine and Applied Art from the University of Ulster in 2007.
Doran has participated in numerous exhibitions across the UK and Ireland, including Cork Art Trail, Cork (November 2011), The Mutual at Vault Art Fair, Glasgow (September 2011), Sterile Environment at Catalyst Arts, Belfast (June 2011), Arrivals at the Ormeau Baths Gallery, Belfast (2010), Open EV+A Too Early for Vacation, Limerick (2008) and Derry? London? London? Derry? at the Context Gallery, Derry (2008). In 2007 she was awarded the Flax Art Graduating Student Residency and has participated in the PS2 gallery 9-5 Residency programme in 2009.
Doran worked at Catalyst Arts, one of Ireland’s leading artist led galleries, between 2008-2010 where she co-curated the FIX09 biennial of live art and Art Rebels: Catalyst Arts 1996-2010.
She currently lives in Glasgow, where she is studying on the MFA programme at Glasgow School of Art.
